The Bhavnagar Airport is located in the southeast of Bhavnagar, approximately 5 km from the city center in the state of Gujarat. Situated at an elevation of 20 ft. above the sea level, it is spread over an area of 294 acres. Bhavnagar Airport is a domestic airport and does not handle international flights. In the year 2011-12, the airport has clocked around 76,635 passengers and approximately 2,658 aircraft. The airport is operated by the Airports Authority of India. It monitors air traffic via the ILS (Instrument Landing System). The Bhavnagar Airport was awarded the Best Domestic Airport by the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI).
