Jamshedpur Airport, also known as Sonari Airport, built in 1940 and operated by TATA Steel, is a public airport at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, serving the towns of Jamshedpur and Tatanagar. The airport does not have any scheduled flights; instead, it operates unscheduled chartered flights from Kolkata. In the past decades, many reputed airlines like MDLR and Kingfisher Airlines used to have their operations from the airport. However, all the operations have since ceased due to various reasons like short length of the runway, internal issues, etc
